Swiss chard and spinach pie

Ingredients:
  • 10 swiss chard only the green part
  • 1.5 cups fresh spinach leaves no stems
  • 1 onion
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cups buttermilk
  • 250 grams cottage or quark cheese
  • 1 cups yellow grated cheese
  • nutmeg
  • salt and pepper


Turn on the oven to medium heat. Oil the baking dish.
Chop the onion and fry it until golden. While frying, mix in a big bowl the dairy products and the eggs. Season with some salt, black pepper and a pinch of nutmeg. Wash the green leaves, drain them and cut off the stems. Tear the leaves with hands (chop them in a food processor or with a knife) and add them to the bowl with the dairy. Add the fried onions and mix everything well. Pour the mixture into the baking dish. 

If you want to make it look even better, you can put some more grated cheese and/or paprika on top of the mixture.

Bake the pie in the middle of the oven on medium heat for 40 min (depends how big is your dish).When the pie is golden its done. If you want to make sure, stick a toothpick in the middle of the pie. if it comes out dry, the dish is ready. Serve hot with some seasoned yogurt and a green leaves salad.
